In 1967 John Lennon wrote the song All You Need is Love, it was created for the Our World project, a worldwide TV special that was broadcast in 24 countries on June 25, 1967. The 6 hour event was viewed by over 400 million people. The song was commissioned by England to be a representation Britain, and be easily understood by people of all nationalities. While the Beatles did perform the song live for the event, they first recorded part of the sound track at a earlier time. Here is a video of that original recording:

The saying "All You Need is Love" came from this song as it became a popular slogan during the Anti-war movement in the 1960's where many protested the Vietnam War.
