Buddy Holly created the classic love song Words of Love in 1957. In this first recording of his song he recorded multiple tracks and then combined them for the completed work with background harmonies. This was one of the first songs recorded with a double track method. Later in 1957 this song was recorded by The Diamonds this recording became popular ranking 13th in Billboards Hot 100 songs. The Beatles were huge fans of Buddy Holly as they recorded their first version of Words of Love in 1964.
